content for Sunday, February 6, 2005:

French composer, Georges Auric was enigmatic and reclusive. He's known best as a member of Les Six in musical trivia games, yet one of his works was a popular song. The 1953 version of "Moulin Rouge" , directed by John Huston was nominated for seven Oscars and won two. Auric wrote the score. The title music and its setting as a song are well known. He also wrote some great chamber music. Fredericton soprano, Sally Dibblee (pron. Dib-Bell) performs three of his film songs including "Where is Your Heart" from "Moulin Rouge". Halifax pianist, PeterAllen  performs his massive Sonata in F Major all from the 2004 New Brunswick Summer Music Festival on the UNB campus in Fredericton.
