Current MLA: Trevor Zinck (NDP)

District profile: This working middle-class residential area has a large number of apartment buildings. It includes Crichton Park, Albro Lake, Wallis Heights, Micmac Village, Tufts Cove and Shannon Park.

In a 2003 redistribution, it gained the area north of Lake Banook and north of Hawthorne Street.

Political history

The NDP has held the riding since 1998. Trevor Zinck picked up in 2006 where long-time MLA Jerry Pye left off, keeping the riding NDP orange by a large margin.

The riding, however, has had some of the lowest voter turnout levels in the province in recent years – just above 52 per cent last time around.
