District profile: This Halifax district covers the growing population of the Spryfield, Fairview, Fairmont, Armdale and Cowie Hill areas.

The northern boundary is Vimy Avenue, the eastern boundary is the CNR line to Chebucto Road and south of Chebucto Road, while the eastern boundary is Herring Cove Road as far south as McMullen.

2006:	New Democrat Graham Steele was re-elected in a landslide, more than doubling the vote count of his closest rival, PC Bruce MacCharles.
2003:	Steele received 46 per cent of the vote and defeated Liberal Susan Hayes by 1,155 votes. MacCharles was third.
2001:	Steele defeated Liberal Jeremy Akerman by 1,143 votes in a byelection.
1999:	New Democrat Eileen O'Connell won re-election over Nayarana Swamy by 1,498 votes. She died in September 2000 after a two-year fight with breast cancer.
1998:	O'Connell defeated Liberal Bob Britton by 2,052 votes.
1996:	O'Connell defeated PC Rossana Liberatore in a byelection by 3,184 votes.
1993:	New Democrat Alexa McDonough defeated Liberal Art Flynn by 1,231 votes. She resigned to run for the federal NDP leadership.
