Boomer Gallant - CBC News: Compass
One of the most recognizable faces on Prince Edward Island is Kevin "Boomer" Gallant. He was born and raised in Charlottetown and in his 22nd year as weather host on CBC-TV on P.E.I.
Boomer also appears frequently on CBC’s national 24-hour news channel, CBC Newsworld, and can often be found on the national morning show, CBC News: Morning. He works extensively with community groups, often visiting schools and working together with organizations to promote not-for-profit projects. Boomer also appears weekly on the Compass sports panel.
Outside of his work at the CBC, Boomer is known for the 16 years he spent calling harness races at the Charlottetown Driving Park. When not tracking weather systems, he can be found in his backyard flower garden or at the local gym. He lives in Charlottetown with his two children, Allyson and Brad.
