Has been a speaker at conferences held by such groups as the Canadian Public Health Association, the Public Legal Education Association of Canada and the UN Conference on Climate Change in Montreal. For her community work she was declared a Holly’s House Hero by the Elizabeth Fry Society in 2008, and in 2004 was the recipient of the Muriel Duckworth award, presented annually to a woman making a significant contribution to the advancement of women within Canada.
