Career Background: Served as research agent for Quebec’s Institute of Statistics, director of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, director of the cultural committee of Outaouais and an expert for the Canadian International Development Agency at the Commissariat of Tourism in Mali, Africa.

Community Activities: Served as the representative of citizens on the committee on collective transport in Saint Georges –de-Beauce and president of the National Society of Quebecers on Outaouais.

Maxime Bernier

Birthplace: Beauce, Que.

Education: B.Comm.

Profession: Lawyer, businessman

Career Background: Has been a consultant on the legislation on financial institutions and the development of the regulation governing the sector. From 2003 to 2005, he was vice-president of the insurance company Standard Life of Canada and Manager of corporate and international relations at the Commission des valeurs mobilières du Québec. Maxime also worked as a legislative assistant for the Office of the Deputy Premier of Quebec. He is a member of the board of the Montreal Economic Institute.

Party: Liberal Party of Canada

Education: Earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural and environmental sciences from McGill University and a diploma in environmental and horticultural technologies. Awarded several scholarships including the Macdonald Class of ’52 Spirit scholarship and the Fondation Desjardins. Pursuing a master's degree in natural resources and environmental economics.

Profession: Farmer

Career Background: Serves as president of Ferme Alliance 7 Inc.

Community Activities: Served as president of the Christian fellowship on the Macdonald Campus of McGill University, where he co-ordinated activities pertaining to Christian faith. Received the Gold Key award, which rewards McGill students who make a significant contribution to extracurricular activities. Also an avid indoor soccer player, voted best defenceman.
