Career Background: Worked as a negotiator for various companies for the last 27 years. Since 1995, he has also been working as the provincial director for Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) and serving as vice-president of the Fédération des travailleuses et travailleurs du Québec (FTQ), the largest union in Quebec.
Community Activities: Currently serves on the board of SPQ Libre, a political movement in support of a sovereign Quebec. Recently served on the board of the Commission des partenaires du marché du travail, established by the provincial government in 1997 to enhance the skills of Quebecers in the workforce, in response to the federal government's employment measures of repatriation. Between 1993 and 1995, he served as a member of the Comité d’adaptation de la main-d’œuvre en aérospatial doe Québec (CAMAQ), an association of aerospace workers in Quebec.

He was a founding member of the Accès Nord Committee in 2000, and actively involved in the civic action seeking development of a rail line between Montreal and Saint-Jérôme in Basses-Laurentides. He started a task force to create schools teaching vocations specific to the region. He is also engaged in issues related to the École alternative des Ramilles, the local public school, and is actively involved with the Seigneurie des Mille-Iles school board.
