Career Background: Articled with the Crown Attorney's Office in Toronto. He then joined the office as an assistant Crown attorney upon being called to the bar in 1983. Has prosecuted many jury trials and 10 murder prosecutions at different levels of court. Has been designated a domestic abuse specialist, a child abuse specialist and is an agent for the attorney general for the purpose of obtaining authorizations for wiretaps. His committee work with bench and bar led to establishment of a mental health court in Toronto, as well as putting in place alternative justice and case management practices. Has helped develop an electronic case management system for the Ministry of the Attorney General. Has given presentations to police, prosecutors and heads of prosecutions on many diverse subjects including gang violence, racially motivated crime and police best practice standards.

Community Activities: Has served on boards of directors and in other capacities for Hawthorn School for Girls and Mary Mother of God School. Past chair of Loretto Abbey Catholic Secondary School Advisory Council.

Former vice-chair on the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry Foundation. Former treasurer on the National Council of Ethnic Business and Professional Association. Former treasurer for the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Ontario. Served as a consultant to community-based programs on economic planning, international trade and financing of micro-based businesses.

Community Activities: Mentor to hundreds of professional women, providing guidance towards the establishment of successful businesses and careers. Community activist in Don Valley East for more than 25 years.
