Community Activities: Vice-chair of the Whitby Downtown BIA Board of Management from 1994-1996. Board member of the Durham Region Manufacturers Association from 1996-1999, and Vice-chair in 1999. Member of the board of the Whitby Chamber of Commerce in 1996. Member of the board of the Durham Region Local Training Board from 2001-2004. Served on the Whitby Historical Society for 25 years, receiving the 25-year Ontario Volunteer Service Award for his contribution to the Society.
