Sat on the city's executive and budget committees and was chair of the Mayor's task force on drugs, as well as the Intergovernmental Affairs Committee. As a Metropolitan Toronto council and regional councillor in 1994, was a member of the Metro Budget Committee and the Standing Committee on Planning and Transportation. Served as the Mayor's designate and as vice-chair of the Toronto Police Services Board.
Community Activities: Was president of the Cancer Society and member of the board of governors for Villa Colombo, a home for seniors.
