Bandwidth
This Week
Dec. 11 2004:
When all us music geeks get excited about quantifying
this year's music. We order our favourite albums according
to which spent the most time in our ghetto blasters.
It's TOP 10 TIME!
But since Bandwidth is only an hour long, we're going
to hear less from more people.
It's TOP FIVE TIME!
Bandwidth buddies Matthew Crosier, Garvia Bailey, and
Bill Stunt glance back to their notable Ontario albums
of the year, which include African Guitar Summit, K-OS's
Joyful Rebellion, and Hopetown from JENNY WHITELEY.
The thrashing rock duo DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979 talk about
their self-proclaimed ear splitting sounds and being part
of a two-man band. "No one ever told Steely Dan,
'You've got to get another song writer.'
The gentler sounds of GREAT LAKE SWIMMERS' Tony Dekker

Dec. 4 2004:
Whew. I'm bushed.
St. Catharine's crooner RON SEXSMITH was through Ottawa
last week at the tail-end of a long roadtrip. Despite
a nasty case of laryngitis he was chatty and excited
about his much-needed break from touring and his next
album--even though Retriever isn't even a year old.
Super Matthew (Crosier) swoops in to demystify some
laptop electronic music for us earthlings. The U-Ctrl
Electronic Micro Tour rolled through town a week ago.
Matthew managed to rouse NAW, ANDREW DUKE, and AKUMU
from their post-show slumber to get an interview.
A little while ago Bill Stunt dropped into a record
store here in town to hear what's on John Westhaver's
turntable. (Hint: It's kinda KINKY.)
A few requests from a listener, a record-store dude,
and our fine feature artist himself: RON SEXSMITH.
Live is always better, so we'll fill you in on some
Ontario concerts listings.
