About Paul McLoughlin
Paul McLoughlin has been an observer of Alberta politics since 1983 when he became a member of the Alberta Legislature Press Gallery.
He owns Word of Mouth Communications which publishes Alberta Scan, a weekly newsletter about Alberta politics. Alberta Scan is read by a broad cross section of federal, provincial and local politicians and bureaucrats, by industry associations, by media outlets and others looking for current, in depth information about provincial government decisions.
Paul is an active broadcaster. He has been the Eyeopener¹s eye on the Legislature since 1993. On the ACCESS network, he was a panelist on Fair Comment and hosted Dialogue on Education. As well, he hosted Alberta Matters, a monthly show about Alberta politics on PBS Spokane.
CBC Alberta has hired Paul as a resource person for its journalists for every provincial election since 1997. He has made speeches and presentations on Alberta politics to a wide variety of groups.
