Broadband - Internet access at a high data transmission rate. Broadband access for consumers is usually available through cable companies, using a cable modem, or through telephone companies, using DSL or digital subscriber line. Broadband signals don't interfere with the cable television or telephone signals that come over the same wires. Also called high-speed internet because it's faster than dial-up.
