e-mail spoofing

encryption

Encryption - A way to make information unreadable to anyone but the intended recipient. Encryption is commonly used on the internet to provide security for online shopping, so that credit card information can't be intercepted and stolen. Modern browsers include encryption, using systems such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS). Wireless internet connections can use encryption so that only authorized computers can interpret the signals and connect to the network. E-mail can also be encrypted using specialized software.
