Server - A computer that shares its resources, such as file storage, software applications or printers, over a network. The internet is a collection of interconnected networks of servers, sending different kinds of information back and forth, and down to computers attached to the net. A web server makes documents available to browsers over the World Wide Web. An e-mail server sends and receives e-mail from computers and other servers on the internet.
