Spyware - A computer program that monitors a person's computer use, or looks for personal data stored on a computer. Spyware sometimes comes in the form of a Trojan horse, through free programs downloaded from the internet, or peer-to-peer file sharing. Spyware is sometimes used in adware to monitor internet use for the purpose of targeting advertising. See also Malicious software.
