Peer-to-peer - A network that allows computers to communicate with each other without being connected to a common server, often anonymously. Examples include Kazaa and the original Napster music-sharing program. Because it's difficult to tell where files on a peer-to-peer network are coming from, malicious software can spread easily, especially as Trojan horses.
