Spoofing - Any attempt to make information look like it's coming from a place other than its true origin. At the most fundamental level, individual packets of information sent over a network can be spoofed, their headers altered to contain false information about where they came from. Other forms of spoofing include e-mail spoofing and URL spoofing.
