  • Bachue recorded at Strathspey Place in Mabou on Cape Breton Island during the 2003 Celtic Colours International Festival held on Cape Breton Island...
Over the last ten years, singer and harp player Corrina Hewat has emerged as one of the most distinctive, original and versatile artists on the contemporary Scottish scene. Synthesising the energies and idioms of traditional, jazz and classical music, in formats ranging from entirely solo to a 31-piece "folk orchestra", Corrina's combined talents as a vocalist, instrumentalist, composer and arranger have won steadily increasing acclaim among critics, fellow musicians and audiences alike.
David Milligan is one of the most highly regarded pianists in the UK. He has earned an enviable reputation as a key side-man for many groups. A Post-Graduate of the City of Leeds College of Music, David is heavily involved in a wide variety of projects within the jazz scene. His principle reputation lies in his work as a jazz pianist, but in recent years he has been exploring and developing a unique crossover style of piano playing. He is one of the few Scottish musicians who have enjoyed success in both jazz and folk genres.
David's involvement in the folk and traditional music scene has evolved from a long-standing collaboration with renowned harpist and vocalist Corrina Hewat. In 1994 they formed the ground-breaking band Bachue, and have since performed their unique "Celtic Cool" sound all over the world. Although undergoing various line-up changes over the years, Bachue are now a trio, featuring Donald Hay on percussion

From the 2003 Celtic Colours International Festival, we'll have The Barra MacNeils in concert from Strathspey Place in Mabou on Cape Breton Island...
The Barra MacNeils grew up in the heart of Celtic tradition in Sydney Mines on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, where the siblings learned step-dancing from their mother and absorbed the traditional music which was an integral part of their community. Since their formation in 1986 this family band has established a worldwide reputation as one of Canada's premier acts.

"The first performer on stage and the musician who made the biggest impression on me for her ethereal qualities was Sian James, a Welsh singer and extremely animated harp player. James's first time at Celtic Colours proved she was an authentic treasure with a light, clear Welsh accent, lively sense of humour, fine bursts of energy -- a grand purveyor of Welsh culture. She was the spirit of music on stage wrapped in the tawny colors of her hair, dress and harp."...Virginia MacIsaac
